IN Hawaiʻi, a tradition of knowing of the Hawaiʻi forrest is called the Hiʻiaka.
If youʻve ever wanted to learn a perspective in relation to the Hawaii Forrest, then this workshop is for you!!
This workshop will look at a tradition of Hiʻiaka of the forrest in Hawaiʻi and how it relates to the environment. We will explore the connections that Hiʻiaka has to particular traditions in Hawaiʻi.
Here is what will be covered in our workshop:
- Who is Hiʻaka and the forrest environment
- How a tradition of Hawaiʻi can provide a perspective in the NOW.
- One (1) chant that relates to Hiʻiaka in Hawaiʻi
You will also be provided :
- A Hiʻiaka of the Forrest journal (pdf downlaod)
- Modern mele (song) created with the idea of Hiʻiaka. (audio download)
